You are invited to join the Shoreham community on the “Pines Beach” at dawn on ANZAC Day 25th April 2015 to commemorate the centenary of the Gallipoli landings.
We plan to gather on the beach from the car park area adjacent to the toilet block from 5.30 am to await the dawn in silence; recalling the memory of the ANZAC's approaching the Turkish shore under the cover of darkness.
We will honour the lives of all those lost in war and its aftermath but abhor the violence and horror of these tragic events.
Bring what you need to be safe and comfortable in the darkness: chair, rug, warm clothing, torch etc
At sunrise we will cross the creek and walk to the Avenue of Honour on the Common at Byrnes Road and share hospitality in the Hall.
